Joe Way
PGA Professional

Born in London, England, Joe played a multitude of sports until the age of 14 when he decided to focus his attention towards golf. As many are, he was soon hooked on the game and spent his spare time playing and practicing at his home club. This led to him winning both the Junior and Men’s Club Championships on multiple occasions.

With his passion for golf growing year on year, Joe decided he wanted to make it his career and began his degree at The University of Birmingham in 2012. The degree, ran in conjunction with the Professional Golfers Association, taught Joe the latest golfing theories in coaching, psychology, 3d swing biomechanics and equipment technology amongst other things. Upon graduation in 2015 Joe was a fully qualified PGA Golf Professional.

Having decided he wanted to focus his attention on coaching, Joe spent two summers at the spectacular Paul McGinley Golf Academy, Quinta do Lago, Portugal. Alongside providing individual golf lessons, Joe was tasked with creating a Junior Golf Programme at The Academy from scratch. Over the next two summers the Programme flourished and helped to introduce hundreds of juniors to the game of golf. He also gained experience in using Trackman, Flightscope, Sam Puttlab and Boditrack while in Portugal.

Joe believes that tailoring the coaching approach to the level of golfer is key to player improvement. Whether it be an in depth analysis using technology and biomechanics with better players, or the basics of golf with beginners. Joe is looking forward to working with Club members and visitors alike to help them achieve their golfing goals.
