Stephen Deane

Stephen's professional career started in 2004 at the prestigious Royal County Down Golf Club under the supervision of the 2006 Irish PGA Captain Kevan Whitson. An honours graduate in Golf Management from Central Lancashire, Stephen is an accomplished teacher and player. Having travelled to Hong Kong, Spain and now Dubai to teach the game, Stephen brings with him a wealth of knowledge to pass on to his pupils.

A passionate instructor Stephen advocates the World's best Peter Cowens method of instruction. Having been mentored by Peter, Stephen brings with him modern information which he passes onto his students in a simple and effective manner. A qualified Titleist Performance Institute Fitness, Junior and Power coach instructor he has the ability to offer an holistic approach when working with all ages and ability of student. Stephen also utilizes trackman data and video analysis on a daily basis to get the most out of his students games.

Stephen is an accomplished player having won several UAE PGA events. Some highlights include  representing the UAE in the International team championships and successfully qualifying and  competing in the 2010 European Tour Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

As a key staff member during preparations for the Seniors British Open Championships, Ladies' British Amateur Championship and Walker Cup which were held at Royal County Down, Stephen is used to working at a venue that hosts major events.

 

Alastair Brown

Senior PGA Professional

Alistair BrownAlastair is a highly experienced and qualified PGA Professional who has been teaching at world class facilities since 2001. He completed his PGA training and progressed to Senior Assistant Professional at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland under the guidance of renowned Head Professional Gary McNeill.

Joining Emirates Golf Club in 2008 Alastair has constantly evolved as an instructor/coach gathering his knowledge from the best tour instructors and leading biomechanics experts. He uses the Peter Cowen method in his teaching and is also a TPI certified instructor.

Using the most current technology available and being certified in all key areas of golf coaching Alastair has learned to deliver lessons with a relevant and simplistic approach. Most importantly Alastair believes that the student must understand the ball-flight laws and correct impact conditions to fully understand their swing pattern and how to improve it.

Mark Bruce

Mark Bruce

Mark has had a club in his hand since he can remember, practicing as a little boy with his grandfather. Raised on one of the world's toughest and best courses, the prestigious Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland.

After a successful amateur career, Mark, a former scratch player and boy international, turned his eye to the Professional ranks in 2006 securing a position at Gullane Golf Club, East Lothian, Scotland, enrolling in the PGA Foundation Degree.

During his 5 years at Gullane, Mark gained full membership with the PGA as a qualified PGA Golf Professional and established himself as Head Teaching and Custom Fitting Professional at the Club.

Since arriving in Dubai in 2011 Mark has had in-depth mentoring and training from world leading golf coach Peter Cowen at Emirates Golf Club and passes on Peter's invaluable knowledge and theories in his own style with over a decade of teaching experience.

Mark offers lessons with video analysis, Trackman and Sam Puttlab to gain maximum information about every part of your game. With his expertise and this state-of-the-art technology, your game will be carefully analysed, explained and together you can take your golf to a new level. Mark teaches players of all abilities and simplifies the technical game of golf. 

Jonathan Craddock

Jonathan has always been a keen sportsmen and it was at the age of sixteen that he turned his attention to golf. Taking to the sport at a fast pace Jonathan realized his development was down to his athletic upbringing, which heavily influences his current coaching model. Jonathan was first introduced to world renowned golf coach Peter Cowen in 2000 through his mentor David Dunk. David a retired tour player left a lasting impression on Jonathan with his dedication to the sport, knowledge, skills and work ethic.

Whilst completing his PGA degree Jonathan took the lead position as head professional early on in his career which thrust him into a competitive teaching environment becoming the senior teaching instructor, coaching golfers of all levels. Developing his popularity meant that Jonathan was recruited by local Government Authorities and given the opportunity to coach golf in varied locations including schools, colleges, community centers and universities.

With over a decade of coaching experience Jonathan has developed a specialized skill set being able to activate the game in a simplistic manner to any person in any location. During this time he has furthered his knowledge to the highest level becoming aCorrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology (CHEK) Golf Mechanics Instructor, Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 2 Junior, Power & Golf Mechanics Instructor, Trackman Level 2 Instructor, Dr Kwon Biomechanics Level 1 Instructor, Triggerpoint Level 1 Coach and Special Education Needs (SEN) Level 3 qualified.

With the aim of developing golf in the region, Jonathan joined the Emirates Golf Club team in 2010 and has been working with local authorities to provide the correct pathways in golf for the population of the UAE. 

Dong Lee

PGA Professional

Dong qualified as a PGA Professional in the UK in 2008, having grown up in Surrey, England. Dong was originally born in South Korea and moved to the UK at the age of 12, just one year later he picked up his first golf club.  He played in south region PGA events and won a couple of tournaments in addition to finishing in the top five on several other occasions.

Dong is passionate about golf and teaching the game to others.  He joined Dubai Golf in 2012 and coaches at both Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, since joining he has been very busy with teaching Korean members and guests as he speaks fluent Korean.

In terms of teaching style, Dong's philosophy is to keep things as simple as possible, working through problems that golfers are experiencing with their game and then helping them to work out the resolution; this approach encourages the golfer to work out problems and fix issues even when he is not physically there.

Richard Dunsby

DSC_4426Richard was introduced to the game of golf from an early age by his grandfather and father. He had his first set of plastic golf clubs as soon as he could walk. Richard is a keen sportsman and has played many sports over the years but turned his attention to golf seriously at the age of 13. From this age Richard always had a vision he was going to be a golf professional and at 16 years old Richard assisted the head professional at the golf club he grew up playing in Nottinghamshire.

Richard aged 22 decided to turn professional and in July 2016 completed his PGA Foundation degree at the University Of Birmingham. Over the last three years Richard has attended various golf seminars to increase the amount of knowledge he already has. He is also passionate about Sports phycology and Sports related fitness.

Richard has been mentored by Zen Golf Mechanics making him apart of a fraternity of coaches certifying him to teach and understand the Zen Putting Mechanics and FlowMotion Golf training system, which has become a fundamental component in the Golf Coaching tool box of those eager to accelerate their learning as well as those who aspire to be the very best.

After spending lots of time with experienced coaches in the United Kingdom Richard has been able to develop an understanding of how he can coach people's individuals needs with incredibly fast achieving results.

 

Alex Sheddon

Alex Sheddon

Alex's began playing golf at the age of 10 years old and from there his passion for the game and helping others to improve has grown. After completing school he attended the University of the Highlands and Islands where he completed his degree in Golf Management. During this time Alex represented the University team and also worked for a season as part of the Professional staff at Royal Dornoch Golf Club.  

Alex's goal was always to complete his PGA training and in 2012 secured a position at Royal County Down Golf Club under Head Professional Kevan Whitson. Over the 4 years in Northern Ireland Alex developed his coaching skills and understanding of the golf swing through the attendance of seminars and the use of modern technologies such as TrackMan and pressure mats.  

Now here at The Emarites Alex hopes to use his experience and expertise to provide quality coaching sessions for all ages, levels and abilities.

 

Marc Iwao

PGA Professional

Marc IwaoMarc played at a very high standard on the JGTO tour, Asian Tour, Canadian PGA, Nationwide Tour and Golden Bear Tour event in US, Canada, Japan and South Asia. He was 2nd of the year on the California Professional Tour. Then turned his attention to teaching now has taught over 20,000 hours students from all over the world. Marc has experience as club manager and Head Golf Professional for last 10 years in Asia.

Marc has a keen interest in sports biomechanics and is certified by Olympics & the Sports Performance University.
