PILATES

Pilates is a form of exercise that develops a strong, balanced body, focusing on improving the strength and stability of your core.

When we have postural and muscular imbalances in our bodies, we do not move



or function efficiently and therefore are prone to aches, pains and often injury. Through Pilates training we can correct this creating a strong core that will support the spine and movement. As you develop strength in your core, torso stability will improve and this is one of the main reasons why Pilates is particularly effective in eliminating back pain. It will also improve your breathing, increasing lung capacity and circulation through the deep lateral breathing method that we learn in Pilates. At Emirates Golf Club we offer Pilates Matwork Classes.

Matwork classes are carried out mostly lying on the floor, with a repertoire of exercises that challenge the body whilst working against gravity. Sometimes small apparatus such as therabands and magic circles are used to assist and vary the repertoire. Matwork can sometimes be more of a challenge as there is no apparatus to support the body and you rely wholly on the strength of your core abdominal muscles.

Spinning

Enjoy a fun 45 minute cycling class of varying intensities and burn lots of calories while improving fitness and your feel good factor.
