The Desert Miracle Book Launched -Groundbreaking story of one of the world's most impressive golf clubs

Emirates Golf Club and Motivate Publishing released Rodney J. Bogg's much-awaited book The Desert Miracle today, on the occasion of the Club's twenty-fifth anniversary. The book launch took place at Le Classique, Emirates Golf Club's award-winning restaurant.

The brainchild of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Emirates Golf Club has had a history of radical expansion for over two decades. In the foreword to the book, Hesham Abdullah Al Qassim, CEO of Dubai Real Estate Corporation (DREC), who own and manage Dubai Golf, describes the book as a story of this unique golf club, "from the initial idea in Sheikh Mohammed's mind to the design of an architectural icon; from an empty piece of sand to a verdant golfing paradise; from the opening tournament to one of the leading events on the European Tour; from a members' club to a thriving resort".

Christopher May, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Golf stated, "As the first all-grass eighteen-hole golf course in the Middle East established in 1988, Emirates Golf Club is rightfully seen as the home of golf in the region. Having been at the forefront of developing Dubai as a golfing destination, there's no doubt it deserves a tribute such as this commemorative book.  The Desert Miracle unfolds in detail how the club came about and then progressed into the iconic sporting venue and much-loved symbol of Dubai that it is today. I would also sincerely like to thank our owners, DREC and wasl Asset Management, who supported and encouraged this publication."
