Top 100 Must-Play Courses
Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club has been voted one of the world’s ‘Top 100 Must-Play Golf Courses’ by leading European golf magazine, Golf World. The article published in November 2005, ranked the top ‘100 Must-Play Golf Courses’ in the world based on the overall playing experience. Dubai Creek was placed in 81st position amongst other world-class courses such as Augusta, Turnberry, Pebble Beach and St. Andrews, who were all placed in the top 20.
Running alongside the stretch of water from which it takes its name, Dubai Creek Golf & yacht club is an 18-hole golf resort and is a true golfers’ paradise. The par 71-championship course, which has twice hosted the Dubai Desert Classic (1999 and 2000), offers a real challenge to every level of golfer. Redesigned in December 2003 by European Golf Design in association with Thomas Bjorn and reopened in February 2005, the course rolls 6,857 undulating yards along well-groomed fairways lined with palms, attractive water hazards and shrubbery that lend a distinctly tropical and secluded air, despite its city centre location. The new sixth hole incorporates a constructed tee located on stilts 10 meters into the Creek, definitely an experience that will be remembered!
The resort incorporates a floodlit nine-hole par 3 course and driving range, hi-tech swing analysis studio and extensive short game practice facilities, in addition to the 225 bedroom Park Hyatt Dubai, 92 four-bedroom villas, 121 berth marina, yacht clubhouse, six award-winning restaurants and main golf clubhouse. Upon its opening in 1993, the clubhouse, modelled on the sails of a traditional Arab Dhow, became an internationally recognized landmark and was named Best Clubhouse in Golf World’s Best of the Best awards.
