Dubai Golf, a government organisation that promotes golf to the world’s golfing market, manages three of Dubai’s most unique and internationally renowned golf courses; Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club and Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis and ‘The Faldo’ courses, allowing golfers of all levels to enjoy the distinct and different challenges presented by each of the championship standard courses.
Host of the PGA European Tour sanctioned Dubai Desert Classic and Dubai Ladies Masters, and the home of the first all-grass championship golf course in the Middle East, the Emirates Golf Club has two of the city’s finest must-see courses; the 7,301-yard, par 72 Majlis Course and the recently redesigned 7,348-yard, par 73 The Faldo Course. Both combine the natural rolling desert terrain for a serious test of golf, while the signature Clubhouse, in the shape of Bedouin tents, remains the most eye-catching in the region.
Situated in the heart of the city on the shores of the Creek, Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club is a popular venue for golfers, and is a landmark in this bustling metropolis. The Club’s 18-hole, par 71 course rolls 6,857 undulating yards along well-groomed fairways lined with date and coconut palms, and attractive water hazards and shrubbery that lend a distinctly tropical air. The course recently underwent an extensive redesign by European Golf Design in association with Thomas Björn transforming it into a true golfers’ paradise and providing an even greater challenge for visitors and residents alike.
Both Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club offer golf academies, which are second to none, providing floodlit driving ranges and nine hole Par 3 courses, as well as short game areas where beginners and experienced players alike can practice their chipping, pitching, putting and bunker skills.
